Give Gain Grow  Community Group - Our Constitution

The name of the organisation will be Give Gain Grow (GGG) and the name of our main group will be Gosport Community Gardeners. 
​We are an unincorpated community group supporting adults with disability and mental health issues.

Aims

• To help motivate the next steps to a more fulfilling lifestyle
• Boost confidence and self-esteem
• To support people in making and maintaining friendships
• To encourage and promote the ideas of environmental sustainability, recycling and the repurposing of materials and tackling causes of climate change
• To encourage physical and community activity

​Membership

Voting membership will be open to anyone over the age of 18 who supports the aims of the group.
The committee have the power to approve or reject members, The member has the right to be heard by the committee before a decision is made.
​Any deadlock vote made by the committee results in the chair having the deciding vote.

Management

A management committee elected annually at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) will manage the group.

The committee will consist of a chair, a treasurer, a secretary, a communication officer and other co-opted voting members.

The committee will meet at least four times a year.
At least three committee members must be present at each meeting.
A proper record and minutes of each meeting must be kept by the secretary.

​General Meetings

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) should be held 12 months after the constitution is agreed and then yearly afterwards.

Notice of the AGM should be published three weeks beforehand along with a report of the group's finances.
A special AGM may be called at any time by the committee or at least one third of its members.

There should be one third of the membership or four members of the committee present at the AGM.

Changes to the constitution must be given to the secretary at least 28 days before the AGM and must then be agreed by two thirds of those voting.
